Nvidia has released a new driver, 511.17, that works only with RTX 3080 12GB and the RTX 3080 10GB. This release is most definitely to accompany the release of the new and slightly more powerful RTX 3080 GPU. Shortly after Nvidia confirmed the specifications of the new RTX 3080 12GB, it was somewhat expected to see this.
This is probably just a warmup for the upcoming update supposed to land on January 14, supporting the new technology announced by Nvidia, DLDSR. Nvidia has already confirmed the forthcoming Game Ready Driver to land on January 14, together with the NVIDIA DSR and AI.DLDSR (Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution).
Owners of the newer RTX 3090 confirmed that the 511.17 driver does not work for them. The very same are not being notified for a driver update on the Nvidia GeForce Experience app too. This means that the driver is indeed only available for RTX 3080 owners. Below you can find the complete changelog for 511.17.

If HDR is required to be toggled from the Microsoft Control Panel, be sure to switch to a different Image Scaling resolution.
