Nintendo Switch 2, is just around the corner, and thanks to recent insights from analysts, it suggests a price tag of around $400 or more.
A report from Bloomberg indicates that this could be the priciest system in Nintendo’s history. The original Switch debuted at $299. Yet, many believe that despite the higher cost, demand will remain strong right out of the gate.
Tokyo-based analyst Serkan Toto shared his thoughts with Bloomberg, stating, “They will sell boatloads of Switch 2 in the first months in particular, almost regardless of the price.” He also highlighted an impressive lineup of games expected within the first year, including new entries in beloved franchises such as Mario Kart, 3D Mario, and even titles like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4. There’s anticipation for third-party support from day one, likely featuring significant titles like Call of Duty.
When might we see this console hit shelves? Analysts are leaning towards a June launch. Robin Zhu from Sanford C. Bernstein estimates that between 6 and 8 million units could be available on launch day. If these projections hold true, it could lead to one of the largest console launches ever.
This news prompts an interesting discussion about pricing strategies and consumer expectations. What do you think about a potential price point of $400 for the Nintendo Switch 2?
