A dedicated team of modders is working on a co-op multiplayer mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. Can you imagine swinging through New York with friends? Just think about it! It sounds like the fun we’ve all secretly hoped for since the game hit our consoles and PCs.
The cool part? This mod is strictly PVE, meaning you won’t have to worry about battling other players; it’s just teamwork and exploration. You’re free to roam the city with up to 16 players online, sharing in some web-slinging adventures. There’s no need to go solo when you can have pals alongside you taking down villains!
The creators are still fine-tuning things; while some main story missions will be available, they’re currently working on fleshing out free-roam content. Once they’ve finished that, they’ll turn their attention back to integrating more story elements. It’s pretty impressive, considering this project has only been developing for about four months.
Joining a session seems straightforward: one player sets up a lobby while others can hop in via Steam invites or by entering the host’s IP address. Simple enough, there are no complicated menus or convoluted matchmaking systems here!
And here’s where it gets even better: the modding team has plans to port this success over to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which drops on January 30th. So, if this first outing strikes your fancy, watch for what’s next once Sony releases Spider-Man 2.
Seriously, who doesn’t want to swing around Manhattan with friends? If everything goes according to plan, and fingers crossed it does, we could see players teaming up before long. The excitement is palpable as we await more updates from these talented modders.
No word yet on when we can expect this co-op experience to launch, but rest assured, I’ll keep my ear close to the ground and update you as soon as I hear something juicy.
