Netflix Faces GTA 6 Leak Jokes Ahead of the August 27 Extended Look

Rockstar is still searching for the leaker behind gameplay footage from what appears to be a playable build of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Grand Theft Auto VI leak footage has turned Netflix’s countdown to its upcoming showcase into a meme target, while Rockstar Games continues looking for the person behind what appears to be a playable build.

Clips from the build have been appearing daily in the days before Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. The material appears to come from a recent, fully working version of the PS5 game, but the official presentation remains scheduled for August 27.

Netflix addressed the upcoming event on August 21 with a short post asking, “How many days until Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look?”

Fans quickly turned the post into a stream of jokes about the leaks, including another fan meme. One reply summed up the mood with, “Bro, we got an extended look all week lmao 🤣,” in one fan’s response.

Another meme joked about “fixing some leaks” outside Rockstar North, adding an appropriately chaotic visual to the reaction.

The timing is awkward for Netflix, since its first showing arrives only days after the leak wave began. The August 27 plan remains in place: the extended look is scheduled to premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET before reaching Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9 p.m. ET, according to the August 27 schedule.

Neither Rockstar nor Netflix has announced how long the presentation will run. For now, the leaked clips are circulating alongside the buildup rather than replacing the next official look at GTA 6, while Rockstar’s effort to identify the leaker continues.
