Patch Notes

Monster Hunter Wilds Ver. 1.042 will arrive August 3 with offline quests

The update requires about 3.5 GB of storage and adds save transfer support for the Prologue Demo.

Monster Hunter Wilds Ver. 1.042.00.00 will arrive on Monday, August 3, at 7:30 p.m. PDT, which is Tuesday, August 4, at 2:30 a.m. UTC. Capcom’s Steam update summary confirms that players must install the new version to access online multiplayer and downloadable content.

The download requires approximately 3.5 GB of free space. Players using the High Resolution Texture Pack will need about 5.5 GB total, with some extra room recommended for differences in the final installation size.

The update also brings several quality-of-life changes. Players can transfer save data from the Prologue Demo when launching the full game without an existing full-version save. In addition, 25 event quests and Challenge Quests that previously needed an online connection can now be played offline.

PC players should use NVIDIA GeForce driver version 581.57 or newer or AMD Radeon driver version 25.9.1 or newer. Capcom warned that AMD Radeon driver versions 25.10.2 and higher have caused problems on some systems using cards such as the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT and RX 7800 XT.
