Mewgenics may bring its console plans to Opening Night Live, with several clues pointing toward an announcement during the event. The Xbox Store already has a listing for the cat-breeding roguelike, and Edmund McMillen has teased a “very special announcement” connected to a soundtrack performance.
Ridiculon will perform a medley of tracks from the Mewgenics soundtrack at the upcoming show. McMillen’s Steam news update connects that performance with the special announcement, but it does not identify what will be revealed. A release date for the Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch versions is one possibility, not a confirmed detail.
The Xbox Store listing appeared on August 22 without a release date or formal Xbox announcement. That makes Opening Night Live a plausible venue for new information, although the listing alone cannot confirm when the game will arrive on Xbox.
For now, the console angle remains a well-supported guess rather than a confirmed reveal. The event will need to provide the missing details, including whether the announcement covers Xbox alone or a wider console rollout.
