Meccha Chameleon ranked as the second-highest-grossing PC game in June 2026, placing behind only Fortnite in Newzoo’s monthly revenue rankings.
The $5.99 indie hide-and-seek game reached that position after a rapid sales run. Meccha Chameleon sold 7 million copies in its first two weeks and passed 15 million copies within its first month, making it one of 2026’s biggest breakout games.
GamesIndustry’s report on the rankings attributed the figures to Newzoo, whose June analysis tracks revenue across the PC market. Meccha Chameleon’s result stands out even more given its low entry price, which costs less than Fortnite’s smallest V-Bucks bundle.
Fortnite returned to the top spot
Fortnite had ranked third in May before the launch of Chapter 7 Season 3 helped it reclaim first place in June. Forza Horizon 6, which led May’s ranking, fell five positions during the following month.
Marvel Rivals, The Sims 4, and Dead by Daylight also appeared among June’s top 10 PC games. Dead by Daylight climbed 16 places, with its 10th anniversary celebrations helping drive the jump.
Meccha Chameleon’s rise has also brought copycats. Its paint-based hide-and-seek formula has already started appearing in other games across Steam, Fortnite, and Roblox, as detailed in the growing wave of similar projects.
For a small indie game to rank second across the entire PC market, even briefly, is a remarkable result. Share your thoughts on Meccha Chameleon’s rise in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
