Gorr and the Expected Season 10 Content
A premature PlayStation Store listing exposed Season 10 key art on September 7, giving players an early look at Gorr before the planned reveal. The first trailer has now confirmed the God Butcher’s arrival and gives him a voice-over role as he presents himself as a grim threat wielding the Necrosword.
The Necrosword’s connection to Gorr is central to his Marvel identity. The weapon gives him the power to hurt gods and supports his mission to wipe them out, which makes Thor a natural target. Marvel fans may also recognize the character from Thor: Love and Thunder, where Christian Bale played Gorr.
Beyond Gorr, the update is expected to include a new Battle Pass, hero buffs and nerfs, maps, and other seasonal additions. The complete gameplay lineup has not been detailed in the available announcement.
The timing also follows a strange change involving Loki. Ahead of the new season, Loki became unavailable in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs AI, and 18 vs 18, although the character remained playable in social hubs and competitive modes. Our Loki availability coverage details the restriction, while any connection to Gorr’s arrival remains unconfirmed.
Marvel Rivals players now have a September 11 launch date to plan around, with the first Season 10 trailer confirming a new character and a darker seasonal theme. Fresh progression, maps, and another round of balance changes are also expected to accompany Gorr’s arrival.
