Manor Lords’ Next Beta Adds Construction Crews, Cows, and Seasonal Work

Slavic Magic is targeting the beta for the end of July and the main-branch release for the end of August.

Slavic Magic has previewed the next round of Manor Lords features, with the beta aimed for release by the end of July and the main branch planned for the end of August. The developer shared the details in an official Steam update preview after completing its recent technical refactors.

The preview centers on more involved construction, expanded livestock systems, and extra tools for managing a growing settlement. Slavic Magic also said that Development Perks will begin arriving after the main-branch release.

Construction Yards Will Support Advanced Buildings

Structures will be split into Basic and Advanced categories. Advanced Structures will need skilled builders assigned to a Construction Yard, and those builders will also construct Basic Structures faster.

The yard will include several Handcarts for moving construction materials. Oxen and Ox Carts will be able to carry multiple Timber logs in one trip, while Guides will need to load the Ox Cart before it can be used.

Advanced construction will take longer and show more stages of work. The preview mentions scaffolds, cranes, workers carrying Water from nearby Wells, and Mortar being mixed at construction sites. A Large Stone Church is also planned as a late-game upgrade, with designs based on historical examples.

Cows, Cheese, and Winter Animal Feed

Players will be able to import and breed Cows. The animals will live in Pastures, where Livestock Farm workers will collect Milk. Cows can also be butchered for Beef.

Pastures will cost Planks, with the price scaling according to their size. Winter shelters will be added as well, and livestock flocking behavior will receive some changes.

A new artisan, the Cheesemonger, will turn Milk into Cheese. The update will also add Oats as a crop. Oat Sheaves can be threshed into Oats for Families or used to produce Animal Feed.

Pasture animals will need to be fed during winter or they may starve. Livestock Farm workers will make Animal Feed from Oats.

Seasonal Assignments and Trading Controls

Workplaces will gain seasonal assignment settings, allowing players to decide which jobs are active during each season. Cows and sheep will also breed and produce more seasonally.

Trading Posts will receive storage filters that limit them to handling specific types of Goods. The preview also names Wide Valley as a new map, though no further details were provided.

With the beta still targeted for the end of July and the main branch planned for the end of August, these features remain upcoming rather than available in the live version. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.

Manor Lords

Manor Lords

Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.

Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.
