New ESRB listings cover Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Both games currently run on those consoles through backward compatibility. The ratings raise the possibility of native current-generation versions, but do not confirm a port or release plan.

Both editions carry an M (Mature) 17+ rating. Mafia II’s descriptors include blood, intense violence, nudity, sexual content, strong language, and use of drugs and alcohol. Mafia III’s list includes blood and gore, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol.
On PS5, the existing PS4 editions of Mafia II and III run at 30 fps, as Push Square notes. Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a current-generation comparison. Its native PS5 version supports 60 fps and includes technical improvements.
An ESRB listing for Mafia: Definitive Edition also surfaced in August. Later that month, 2K’s Omertà Collection details said that game would receive PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, while Mafia II and Mafia III would remain on their existing PS4 releases. Mafia: Definitive Edition’s native PS5 version has since arrived. The new ratings bring the other two games back into the current-generation conversation, without establishing what comes next.
Each Definitive Edition includes its main game and DLC. Mafia II is an HD remaster, while Mafia III is a re-release that bundles its story DLC and bonus packs.
