Last Epoch recently reintroduced its Unity 6 engine upgrade with Patch 1.2.6.2, after briefly reverting to an older version due to some unexpected issues. If you’ve been playing, you might have noticed a few hiccups that made the development team pause and rethink things. Now, they’ve addressed those issues and re-released the update so we can get back to adventuring in Eterra without annoying crashes or disconnects.
The original Unity 6 upgrade (Patch 1.2.6) was primarily intended for development and wasn’t expected to alter gameplay significantly. However, some players encountered issues, prompting a quick hotfix (1.2.6.1) and subsequently a rollback to version 1.2.5.2 to maintain stability while the team investigated the problem further.
Patch 1.2.6.2 includes everything from the original upgrade, as well as fixes from the hotfix, and additional corrections for the problems that led to the temporary rollback. Here’s a breakdown:
Patch 1.2.6 Highlights
- Upgraded the game engine to Unity 6
(mostly behind-the-scenes, no major player-facing changes expected)
Hotfix 1.2.6.1 Fixes
- Loot filters now save correctly after restarting the client
- Resolved disconnects when loading into Risen Lake in Online mode
- Apophis no longer appears in Arenas
- Fixed an issue where Puncture’s interaction with ‘Stay of Execution’ damage could grow infinitely
Patch 1.2.6.2 Fixes
- Addressed a root cause of disconnects when entering various scenes
Some disconnects might still happen occasionally but shouldn’t be consistent anymore - Entering the Monolith Echo “Lost Catacombs” no longer crashes the client
- Cosmetics now reliably show up in the Character Select menu
Honestly, it’s a relief to see these fixes because those disconnects and crashes were kinda frustrating. Have you noticed the cosmetics glitch or had trouble entering Lost Catacombs? I sure did, and it threw me off my game!
