Disgaea Mayhem is the western name for Kyouran Makaism and it will arrive on PS5 this summer. The project moves the franchise away from its turn-based roots and toward an action RPG structure set inside the Disgaea universe.
The player character is N.A., a grizzled mercenary motivated by money. Combat leans into large-scale battlefield fights with a clear Warriors influence. N.A. can switch fighting styles by equipping different weapon types, which changes how the character handles in combat. The series staple known as Item World returns. That system provides a practically limitless place to grind for stronger gear and numbers, keeping the franchise’s trademark extreme damage values in play.
