The release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in February 2025 has proven to be a remarkable success, generating over five times the dollar sales during its launch month compared to the original game. This achievement is particularly notable given the competitive nature of that month’s game releases.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Has Outperformed The Original
According to data from Circana, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 ranked as the second best-selling premium game in February and thus far in 2025, trailing only Monster Hunter Wilds.
Circana’s video game analyst Mat Piscatella noted that the total dollar sales for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II during its launch month were more than five times higher than those of the original title at its debut in February 2018. Both games launched at a price point of USD 59.99; however, it is essential to consider that the sequel had an advantage by releasing on February 4th compared to the original’s release on February 13th.
The critical reception further underscores this success. The first installment received a Metacritic score of 76 and an approval rating of 83% on Steam. In contrast, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 achieved a Metacritic rating of 88 and a favorable rating of 93% on Steam.
