Warhorse Studios has rolled out Title Update 1.3 for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, packing over 370 fixes, tweaks, and adjustments. This update introduces horse racing along with related quests, rebalances difficulty and prices, and tackles a mountain of bugs that have been nagging players. New Features
Horse Racing
Players can now visit the Nomads’ camp in the Trosky region to test their skills in cross-country horse races and mounted archery competitions. This fresh activity comes with three new quests: Horses for Courses, Racing Horseshoes, and The Executioner’s Edge, adding more depth to the equestrian experience.
Balance Adjustments
- Enemy difficulty in the Kuttenberg region has been increased to offer a tougher challenge.
- Bandits’ difficulty has been tweaked at various locations.
- Horseshoe prices and bows have been rebalanced.
- The drunkenness effect’s influence on stats has been adjusted.
- Some previously unobtainable item variants are now available in shops and locations.
- Alcohol quantities and effects have been slightly rebalanced, with fewer drunk NPCs roaming towns.
- Shop inventories and prices, especially in Kuttenberg and Sigismund’s camp, have been diversified and adjusted.
- Robbing merchants has become more difficult.
- Raw meat spoil times have been rebalanced.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
The patch focuses heavily on fixing bugs, especially quest-related ones. Here are some highlights:
- Fixed numerous quest glitches, including issues with quest objectives, cutscenes, and NPC behaviors across a wide range of quests such as A Good Scrub, Ars Dimicatoria, Back in the Saddle, and many more.
- Improved NPC daily routines and crime system reactions, making the world feel more consistent.
- Enhanced combat mechanics, including UI notifications, eager adjustments, and training arena collisions.
- Horse riding improvements like fixing twitching near troughs, pathing issues, and removing speed limits in certain areas.
- Fast-travel fixes to prevent traveling to undiscovered points and to balance travel speeds on horseback versus on foot.
- Visual tweaks such as better LOD distance at the Emperor Charles Inn, collision fixes in multiple locations, and rain fixes inside Trosky castle.
- Added dice players to several taverns for a bit of extra tavern fun.
- Fixed various animation glitches, voice-over issues, and UI inconsistencies.
Other Notable Changes
- More drying racks added for alchemy.
- Improved sounds for barber animations and battle ambiance.
- Adjusted shopkeeper and guard behaviors, including crossbow readiness and guard sleeping patterns.
- Improved physics for clothes on horseback and fixed clipping issues.
- Added tutorials and better feedback for crime consequences.
Performance improvements are not part of this update, which makes sense given how polished the game was at launch. Instead, the developers have concentrated on making the world more believable and fixing the many quirks that popped up since release.
