Insomniac adds ray-tracing to 60 FPS to Spider-Man: Miles Morales

In the most recent update for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Insomniac has added ray-tracing at 60 FPS for the PS5! Thankfully, players on the PS5 will no longer face the tricky choice between 60 FPS fluidity and the ray-tracing aesthetic delights. Insomniac’s latest update gave players a choice between Performance mode (60 FPS with no ray-tracing) and Fidelity Mode (30 FPS with ray-tracing), and now, they’ve added Performance RT that supports 60FPS!

Performance RT Mode’s in-game description offers some info, explaining that it delivers 60fps and ray-tracing “by adjusting the scene resolution, reflection quality, and pedestrian density.” If you’re wondering, this won’t be available on the Remaster for the original Spider-Man released back in 2018 yet.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available for PS4 and PS5, and it was one of the PS5’s launch titles. It’s truly a must-have game for those that were able to get their hands on a PS5. The new generation with ray-tracing gave Insomniac another chance at a Spider-Man game, and just like the previous one, they executed it brilliantly.
