Icarus Adds a Workshop Flashlight as Double XP Weekend Begins
The Inaris Flashlight has a larger battery than the crafted T4 model, while Elysium Great Hunts content remains in testing.

Icarus is free to play for the weekend, and RocketWerkz has paired the promotion with a double XP event. The Week 242 update also adds the Inaris Flashlight to the Workshop, previews Elysium Great Hunts content, and prepares a major rework for the Livewire Operation.
The free weekend also comes with discounts across the game’s downloadable content. A special Free Weekend Bundle combines the base game with the major expansions at an additional discount. The update details are available in the official Steam announcement.
RocketWerkz used the update to look back at 52 free weekly updates from the past year. Those updates included the Mendel overhaul for creature husbandry, the Kepler Update’s Tier 5 technology, Legendary Weapons from the Copernicus Update, new tameable creatures and mounts, the Timber Extraction Unit, and the Single Barrel Grenade Launcher.
A new Workshop light source
The Inaris Flashlight is the first light source available for purchase in the Workshop. Players can find it in the Gadgets category.
Compared with the planetary-crafted T4 Flashlight, the Inaris model has about 15 meters less maximum range. Its battery is 15% larger, though, which RocketWerkz says should keep it running through a player’s first two nights on Icarus.

Elysium Great Hunts are still in testing
RocketWerkz is testing and iterating on a new Great Hunt for the Elysium map. The planned content includes a branching narrative mission chain, a world boss called The Malformation, a two-person Hoverframe, and additional creatures and items.
The developer has not given a firm arrival date, but says the Elysium Great Hunts content should arrive soon.
Livewire Operation rework is planned for next week
The Olympus Operations refresh will continue next week with a larger update to the Livewire Operation. RocketWerkz said the early mission did not benefit from the tools and experience used for newer operations. The rework is intended to improve its overall flow, and other early Olympus Operations will receive similar attention in the coming months.
