How to Hold The Lab’s Generator Room Against Scourge in Escape from Tarkov
Use the blue generators for cover, draw Scourge toward the reception doors, and fall back when enemies approach from the parking catwalk.
A hold around The Lab’s blue generators can draw Scourge and his guards toward the reception doors while keeping the parking catwalk in view as a second approach. It is a raid-specific tactic, not a guarantee, since enemy positions and reactions can vary.
Scourge Incursion remains active through October 26, 2026. Battlestate Games has already reduced Scourge’s health across all body parts, field of view, and detection speed, while increasing his firing spread at range, as covered in the Scourge balance changes and event extension.
Set up at the blue generators
Enter the generator room from the basement and take the stairs to the right of Generator 2. Before baiting the AI, close the door to the parking catwalk. Briefly cross the doorway near the top of the stairs to draw attention, then return to Generator 1 and hold a peek toward the reception double doors. Choose the left- or right-hand angle based on which door is open.
Keep as much of your body behind cover as possible. Scourge and his guards can punish a long peek, so avoid lingering in the doorway or exposing too much of your lower body.
Check reception before pushing
If Scourge and his guards are fighting Raiders or PMCs in reception, they may move into the generator room and hold near the grey double doors. Check the angle with a quick peek or through the window in an orange door, then retreat to the basement if you need to reset. Do not walk close to the double doors while guards are still alive.
A grenade into reception can force enemies out, but they may stay behind the doors even after one lands. The AI can open and close both the grey double doors and the orange doors leading from the basement, so a closed door does not mean the room is clear.
Use the parking catwalk as an early warning
Closing the parking door before baiting gives you a sound cue if Scourge or a guard opens it. A voice line may also warn you. A metal beam blocks their line of sight until they reach the far end of the catwalk, giving you a brief chance to prepare. Scourge may push farther into the room, while guards can stop near the door or partway across the catwalk.
If you hear movement from parking, fall back behind the rear of Generator 2. Treat the back of that generator as your limit, and do not hug its left side, which leaves you exposed to the reception doors. You can hold a right-hand peek at head height, shoot at enemies as they enter, or use an impact grenade while they cross. If an enemy crouches near the parking door, aim low at the ankles rather than rushing the angle.
Use grenades to break a stalled push
If Scourge or a guard stops near the second set of stairs or behind Generator 2, throw a grenade toward the corner where the parking catwalk meets the catwalk above the generators. Aim for the end of the steel beam, not the corner beside the parking door. The tactic is meant to push enemies out of cover and toward the reception doors.
For a grenade into reception, the suggested throwing spot is near the bottom of the first stairs, aiming toward the center of the lower part of the red fence. The grenade can roll across the floor toward enemies in reception. Gunfire can also draw Scourge and his guards toward you from farther across Labs, though the player behind this tactic found that voice lines did not have the same effect.
Keep the guards in view
Killing Scourge does not end the encounter. Track the surviving guards, stay patient if they do not move right away, and check your weapon’s durability before taking another peek. A malfunction while a guard is in sight can turn a careful hold into a bad push.
