Something new is in development for Hearts of Iron IV, and the latest Steam Dev Corner asks players to weigh in on several political systems tied to that work. The team specifically brought up Germany’s Inner Circle, Japan’s Imperial Influence, and the American Congress System.
The post asks what players enjoy about the Inner Circle and Imperial Influence, what fails to land, and which pieces feel absent. It does not confirm a particular redesign for either system, so the feedback request appears to be focused on gathering opinions before the new additions take shape.
Three political systems are under discussion
The American Congress System receives a more pointed question. Rather than announcing a confirmed rework, the Dev Corner asks whether players think the system is fine as it is or would prefer to see it rebuilt. That leaves the direction open, with the team looking for a clear response from the community.
The feedback-first approach echoes an earlier Hearts of Iron IV discussion about military production systems, which also asked players for opinions without promising a specific change.
The Inlay Windows preview is still early
The Dev Corner also includes a sneak peek at Inlay Windows, an interface feature that is clearly marked as work in progress. The early design uses several branching levels of entries, with repeated panels across the screen and two colored icons near the bottom.

The team does not explain what each part of the interface will do, and it has not attached a release date to the feature or the wider project in this Dev Corner. For now, the post serves as both an early preview and an invitation to help guide the systems before they are finalized.
