Grand Theft Auto VI has reached an estimated $429 million from 4.38 million copies/preorders, according to Sensor Tower’s GTA VI sales tracker. The figures are estimates, offering an early look at demand before the game’s planned release.
PS5 accounts for 77% of the reported total, which puts the platform at approximately 3.38 million copies or preorders. Xbox represents the remaining 23% and has crossed the 1 million mark.
Take-Two Interactive continues to target November 19, 2026, for GTA VI, so these numbers describe prelaunch activity rather than the game’s complete sales performance. The estimate can still change as more players place preorders, and it should not be treated as a final figure.
The estimate also arrives alongside earlier comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick about the game’s premium editions. Zelnick said more people were preordering the $100 Ultimate Edition than the $80 Standard Edition. In Take-Two’s earlier preorder update, the company described the response as exceptionally strong but did not provide a standalone unit total.
For now, Sensor Tower’s numbers point to a massive preorder showing across both consoles, with PS5 holding most of the estimated activity and Xbox already passing one million. Official sales figures will provide the clearer picture after launch.
