GTA 6 Remains on Track for November 19, but PC Timing Is Still Unconfirmed

The console launch will arrive at midnight in each time zone on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while Take-Two has not announced a PC date.

As of September 22, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI remains on track to launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not announced a delay, and the scheduled console launch covers PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has also not announced a PC version or Steam release.

The official PlayStation Store listing says GTA 6 will unlock at midnight across all time zones. New Zealand will receive access first, while regions with multiple time zones will reach the full launch when their earliest time zone reaches midnight. Preorders are also available through the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.

GTA 6 PC and Steam release details remain open

Rockstar’s latest extended look showed GTA VI running on PlayStation 5, but it did not announce a PC version or reveal plans for Steam. A later PC release remains possible, but both its timing and storefront availability require a new announcement.

Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC 19 months after its console release, giving players a useful point of comparison for GTA VI without establishing a schedule for the sequel. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said Rockstar will make more platform announcements in due time, but neither company has provided a PC launch date.

An unverified claim from X user DetectiveSeeds placed the PC version before April 2027 after three of 90 former Rockstar employees allegedly responded to questions about the release. Those replies are not confirmation, and the claim does not replace an official date.

GTA 6 pricing and current scope

GTA 6 will cost $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition includes extra vehicles, weapons, clothing, tattoos, properties, customization locations, and other in-game bonuses.

Recent details have focused on the size and depth of the world rather than a change to the launch schedule. A map comparison puts the full GTA 6 world at roughly three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2’s, while a non-final developer playthrough took 80 hours. Neither detail represents an official completion-time estimate.

The reported map comparison also places Vice City and its surrounding areas well beyond Los Santos in scale. Players who spend time with side content and activities may take longer than those who follow only the central story.

Latest GTA 6 trailers and gameplay

The latest official look premiered on Netflix in August 2026 before reaching YouTube. It provided the first official presentation of GTA 6 gameplay after years of leaks and speculation, with the extended look showing the game running on PlayStation 5.

Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025, introducing Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as the game’s two protagonists. Their story follows a crime spree across modern-day Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, with the pair forced to rely on each other after an easy job goes wrong.

The first trailer was originally scheduled for December 5, 2023, but Rockstar released it one day early after footage leaked. Its roughly 91 seconds confirmed the return to Vice City and showed locations including the Malibu Club and Ocean Drive.

For now, the November 19 console date is the only confirmed launch point. PC and Steam players still have a waiting period ahead, while Rockstar’s next platform announcement will determine whether the current unofficial estimates come close.
