PlayStation’s June 18 hands-on report on Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok showed a tougher version of Cygames’ action RPG than the one that launched in 2024. The expansion will arrive on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and a demo of the base game is available on PlayStation Store starting June 18.

The new content goes well beyond a few extra quests. Endless Ragnarok adds a fresh story arc, six playable characters, a summon-centric battle system, a higher Chaos difficulty tier, a Master Trait progression tree, and a solo-focused endgame mode called the Conflux. The roster additions include Gallanza, Maglielle, Beatrix, Eustace, Fraux, and Fediel, while bosses such as Beelzebub and The World also join the fight.
The headline mechanic is the Summon system. Once a summon is earned through the story and equipped, it can be called in battle and taken over directly. That also grants full invulnerability while the summon is active, so the mechanic works as both a damage spike and a defensive escape hatch when a boss is about to unleash a dangerous attack. Endless Ragnarok also adds Primal Burst, a follow-up attack from Lyria that triggers after a full Skybound Arts chain under the right conditions.

Chaos difficulty is the clear test for players who already know Relink’s combat inside and out. Even the opening quest of the new storyline starts in that tier, with ragnalia enemies and EX Burst attacks raising the pressure. The hands-on session also featured Furycane and Managarmr, two summons with very different jobs, from fast offense to crowd control and freeze effects.

Gallanza came across as a heavy spear-axe bruiser with wide reach, while Beatrix asked for quick thinking as her offensive, defensive, and recovery buffs kept shifting in the middle of a fight. The Conflux then closed the session with a solo run structure built around clearing zones, choosing temporary perks, and chasing rare materials without relying on matchmaking.
