Go Skate Weekend is front and center in skate.’s June 16 Weekly Grind

The notice also lays out the June 19-22 event window, a Discord sweepstakes running June 18-21, and a request for more community clips and bug reports. EA also asked readers to reply with interview ideas, including music, sounds, and events.

Patch Notes

Here is the short version: the update cleans up crashes, party issues, spectating bugs, UI problems, and a handful of odd cases tied to traffic, the store, and co-op play. EA also kept a long list of open issues in the notice, including export trouble, black screens on older consoles, and a few mission and controller bugs that are still being tracked.

Fixed in Update 0.31.2:

  • After turning the World Traffic setting off and on, some of the cars will become invisible but can still interact with other objects and Skaters.
  • Players cannot change who they are spectating after using RT/R2 or LT/L2.
  • Memory leak crashes related to UI.
  • skate. sometimes crashes when accessing the Tattoos category of the Store.
  • Sometimes, UI elements break after a short period of play.
  • Players are put in a random Party when attempting to join a friend’s Party.
  • Moving cars in San Van are causing skate. to crash.

Known Issues Still Being Investigated:

  • Some Players are unable to export in MP4 Format.
    • Workaround PC ONLY: Using WebM format when exporting works.
  • Rarely, a black screen appears when starting a challenge or throwdown on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
    • Workaround: Rebooting skate. may resolve this issue.
  • Pinned tasks do not remain pinned when the game reconnects after inactivity.
  • Changing the graphics preset doesn’t update the settings shown at the bottom of the Graphics screen as it should.
  • The first step of the Help Wanted mission, Coping Inspector, gets crossed out and doesn’t progress when arriving at the target area.
    • Rebooting skate. results in the Mission progressing to the next step
  • The option to select between 16:9 centered HUD and full-width and height UI is present but non-functional while in Windowed mode.
  • Fingerflips are missing the Switch and Fakie tags in Chapter 1.
  • After finishing a Co-op Challenge, party member’s names will swap with random ones during the celebration screen.
  • Often, players can’t climb the scaffolding of M-Corp Tower.
  • Player model glitches while in Switch/Fakie stance.
  • The images and prices of some Bundles are not displaying in the Shop.
  • AMD driver 26.6.1 is causing skate. to crash.
    • Workaround: Roll back your drivers to 26.5.2 and restart skate.
  • Black screen when using fast travel, Session marker, or starting/completing challenges
  • Footplant to Body Flip transition causes immediate bail with Require Grab While Flipping enabled
  • Rip Score popup appears after entering or leaving the Stadium or the Isle of Grom.
  • Using R3 to Quick Travel will also always toggle the Camera Height.
  • The Level 3 Mastery Task group is mistranslated in Japanese.
  • Daily and Mastery Task Sections Sometimes Display Blank Screen.
  • Quick Drop radial menu resets temporarily after joining server.
