Fresh trailers line up The Sinking City 2, Crimson Desert, and three more games
The batch includes launches for The Sinking City 2 on August 18, 1666: Amsterdam Early Access on August 25, Resonance on August 27, and an October 18 Nintendo of Europe date for Aspyr's re-release.
A batch of new trailers released on August 12 covers five very different games, ranging from survival horror in a flooded Arkham to co-op combat in Middle-earth. The lineup includes The Sinking City 2, Crimson Desert, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, 1666: Amsterdam, and The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – Legacy Edition.
What the five trailers show
Frogwares’ The Sinking City 2 received a gameplay overview that sets the mood for its August 18, 2026 launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. The flooded streets of Arkham are packed with monsters, clues, puzzles, and the aftermath of a cosmic cataclysm. The trailer also teases a confrontation with an eldritch god, because a normal Tuesday in Arkham would apparently be too easy.
Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes the story route. Set 15 years before both A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem, the prequel follows Sophia, a young plunderer fighting for independence in the unforgiving world of the 14th century. Melee combat will also have a larger role than it did in the earlier games. The game will launch on August 27, 2026, for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access on day one, and the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, as outlined in the Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy release details. Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert is already available, and its update overview gathers the game’s post-launch additions in one place. The trailer highlights more than 20 new pieces of content and features, over 120 new pets and mounts, and more than 70 new outfits, equipment pieces, and other items. Those figures fit the broader Crimson Desert post-launch support totals, which include 17 patches so far.
1666: Amsterdam is heading into Early Access on August 25, 2026, through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The new feature video looks at its day-and-night cycle, investigation mechanics, combat, and the abilities of its characters. Noa brings mystical powers to the investigation, while Aaron has feline-focused gameplay, and the pair can combine their skills to uncover hidden truths. Aspyr has also released The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – Legacy Edition, a re-release built around online and split-screen co-op. The package adds character hot-swapping, improved enemy targeting, a revised interface with Health, Mana, and EXP bars for party members, and a new autosave feature. It does not promise a major visual overhaul. The trailer description lists October 18, 2026, as the date for Nintendo of Europe.
