Fortnite is heading toward Chapter 7 Season 4, and Epic Games has given players another batch of clues to inspect. The Unstable Story Moment is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET, five days before the next season begins on August 20.
Unstable Story Moment start times
Time zones will make this event land on different calendar dates around the world. Players in Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand will experience the Unstable Story Moment during the early hours of August 16.

Earlier leaks have pointed to a gaming legends theme for the new season. Now, the event’s key art appears to tease two more possible additions: Tetris and Crash Bandicoot.
Two possible crossover clues in the key art
Falling blocks appear among the scenery on the right side of the artwork, creating a clear visual nod to Tetris. The image also includes an orange block hidden in the bushes with a yellow question mark, which looks like a reference to Crash Bandicoot.
Neither franchise has been officially confirmed as part of the season based on the key art alone. Still, the two images line up with earlier leaks that connected both properties to Fortnite’s next chapter.
How Tetris and Crash Bandicoot could fit
Tetris may be the harder crossover to place inside Fortnite. Its falling shapes do not suggest an obvious character addition, leaving plenty of room for a creative cosmetic, map feature, or event appearance if the crossover happens.
Crash Bandicoot has a clearer path. Because of the character’s size, the source material suggests a Sidekick appearance could be the most natural fit. Epic Games has not explained how either franchise would be used, so both references remain clues rather than confirmation.
The Unstable Story Moment leads into Override
The event will arrive during the final days of the current season, giving Epic Games a chance to connect its existing storyline with what comes next. A separate Pac-Man clue at Wonkeeland was previously noticed, although the music tied to that teaser was later removed.
Epic Games has confirmed that Chapter 7 Season 4: Override will begin on Thursday, August 20. More hints may appear before the Story Moment, but Tetris and Crash Bandicoot are still unconfirmed as in-game additions.
