For Honor’s Blood Hunt Lore Sends Xaphan After a Feared Lord

The entries explain how Guljin's former prisoner became her hunter, while a survivor's warning leaves his target's identity unclear.

Ubisoft’s Blood Hunt lore orders send the Keeper of Chains into Ashfeld’s western forests to capture a feared lord whose territory has seen a string of brutal killings. Guljin wants the prisoner as a show of force while her hold on Heathmoor weakens.

Unrest is spreading across the region. Tales of past battles told by the Scorching Herald continue to circulate, the Samurai of Dokuja’s House have been massacred, and the Arakure are in revolt. Even the Khatun’s peace seems close to breaking.

The Keeper, whose name is Xaphan, was already introduced as Blood Hunt’s Conqueror Hero Skin in the season’s pre-launch plans. The new lore explains how he became Guljin’s hunter. Xaphan once belonged to Chimera, but left after deciding the Alliance would not do what he considered necessary. He later attacked a Horkos stronghold alone, was captured, and spent a year imprisoned. Guljin freed him, and he embraced her promise of order and control.

His time in that cell left him with an unusual keepsake. After a firefly slipped through a crack in the stone, Xaphan collected more in bottles and formed a bond with them. Now he oversees a dungeon holding Guljin’s enemies. If the Khatun calls on him, he can bring prisoners to her arena to fight as champions or die as its victims. Among them is Jormungandr Hulda, a Viking who vows to escape and spill the blood of those she finds. Xaphan’s first mission also brought Astrea and other Horkos members to the arena. Most fell, but Astrea continued to thrive while fighting alongside Queen Kalliopi.

For his latest hunt, Xaphan leads a group north after a shooting star streaks toward Valkenheim. Weeks later, they reach a castle beyond the mist and pass through a graveyard filled with whispers. A line of mutilated bodies marks the castle’s outer edge. One survivor is still alive, but can offer only a warning about a dragon. The villagers nearby refuse to speak the lord’s name, and Xaphan’s journal describes a kinship between himself and the figure he has come to capture.

Guljin wants the lord brought back to kneel before her, and Xaphan tells his men they will chain him whether he is man or monster. What do you think the warning about a dragon means for Xaphan’s hunt?
