EXODUS’ 40-Minute Gameplay Video Puts the Kay’s Fate in Players’ Hands

Archetype Entertainment has released a 40-minute EXODUS gameplay video following Jun Aslan through the early-game “Liberating the Kay” mission. Khonsu, an orbital station that has protected Jun’s homeworld and housed the Kay for generations, is under siege. The footage moves through dialogue, exploration, and combat, and shows the Paladin and Immortal routes at key moments. Because choices in the mission determine the fate of the Awakened frog species, the details below contain spoilers.

The crisis draws Jun into a deal with Suliman Tenjin, leader of the Tenjin Dynasty. His help comes at a price, sending Jun into a fight against the forces of Gideon Aslan, Jun’s half-brother, for control of Khonsu.

Several decisions branch along the Paladin and Immortal paths, framed around virtue and ambition. Jun can give up a med pack or refuse to help, then choose whether to buy a keycard or take it by force. Near the end, the mission offers a choice between altering Khonsu’s beacons and protecting the station without controlling the Kay. The final decision determines the Kay’s fate.

The footage also features the revised male version of Jun. Archetype changed his model after player feedback, giving him a shorter, slimmer face, sharper features, no scruffy facial hair, and a different hairstyle. Facial structure is not customizable, so the redesign changes Jun’s preset appearance rather than adding a character-creation option.

The mission’s immediate stakes sit within a wider premise. Faster-than-light travel creates time dilation, so years can pass for loved ones back home while Jun is away. EXODUS is scheduled to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 7, 2027.
