Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Iceland DLC Puts Its Bridges in the Spotlight

The expansion will feature everything from narrow single-lane crossings to large bridges spanning Icelandic rivers and waterways.

Euro Truck Simulator 2‘s Iceland DLC will bring a wide mix of bridges to the new region, including modern concrete spans, older steel crossings, and remote single-lane bridges where drivers must share the road with oncoming traffic.

SCS Software focused its latest preview on the infrastructure connecting Iceland’s communities. The expansion will send drivers across crossings inspired by real-world locations, from bridges over glacial rivers to longer routes spanning waterways along and beyond the famous Ring Road.

The bridges will not all look or feel the same. SCS Software said the map includes newer concrete structures alongside steel bridges that have served travelers for decades. Some of the more remote crossings will be narrow enough for traffic from both directions to carefully pass through.

That variety should give Iceland’s roads a different rhythm from one route to the next. Drivers may cross a broad bridge with open water on both sides, then soon find themselves handling a smaller span surrounded by rocky terrain, hills, or flowing rivers.

The development team also paid attention to the details around each crossing. Road alignment, barriers, signs, nearby landmarks, and the surrounding terrain were all considered so the bridges would fit naturally into the wider map while remaining enjoyable to drive across.

SCS Software shared the bridge preview in its Steam announcement. The Iceland DLC is still in development, and no release date was provided in the preview.

The new screenshots also show how the bridges frame Iceland’s scenery, with trucks crossing open water, rocky valleys, and coastal roads. One view from inside the cab highlights the road markings, warning signs, and guardrails that will guide drivers across the smaller crossings.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 players will have to wait for more details about the expansion, but these bridges already promise plenty of memorable moments on Iceland’s roads. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
