SCS Software shared an early look at the Multi-Function Display, or MFD, a feature in development for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. The goal is to put more of the truck’s controls in one place instead of scattering them across separate menus and key binds.

The MFD will be accessible from both the interior and exterior camera views, and it is built to surface driving assists, lighting options, vehicle adjustments, media controls, trip information, and other tools. In most cases, opening it will not pause gameplay, so players should be able to keep rolling while they use it.
The studio also said the system is being shaped for keyboard, mouse, wheel, and controller users, with custom navigation options in mind. Another part of the plan is to show related key binds directly in the interface, which should make buried features easier to find without forcing anyone to abandon the control setup they already use.
This work also fits into a wider UI cleanup across the series. The updated Quick Info menu is being adjusted to match the rest of the in-game interfaces, while Services and Adjustments are being folded into the MFD so players can reach them from either place. That interface push follows the game’s 1.59 open beta, which added the Benelux rebuild and new driving tools in Euro Truck Simulator 2’s 1.59 open beta.
For now, the MFD is still in active prototyping, so details can still change before it reaches players. SCS Software also said the same system could later expand beyond trucks and eventually support other vehicle types.
