Escape from Tarkov’s October 2026 PvE Update Could Let TarCoins Buy In-Game Currency

Escape from Tarkov may give its PvE audience a way to trade TarCoins for in-game currency, but Battlestate Games has not committed to the idea. Studio head Nikita Buyanov raised the possibility during a recent Tarkov TV episode while discussing the game’s planned October 2026 PvE update.
Under the proposal, players would spend TarCoins to receive another form of in-game currency. TarCoins can be earned during raids or purchased with real money, so the system would create a direct connection between spending and progression, even if it remained limited to PvE.
What Battlestate Games has planned for October
The October update will focus on expanding PvE with the Prestige mechanic, along with rewards designed specifically for that mode. Battlestate Games also plans a major overhaul for AI-controlled PMCs and additional quality-of-life improvements.
Seasonal content will not be part of that PvE rollout. The recent KORD BREACH season remains focused on PvP for now, leaving PvE with its own progression plans rather than folding the seasonal structure into the October update.
TarCoins already have a place in Tarkov’s economy through the Expansion Hub. Players can earn the currency in raids and use it within the game’s store, while purchases also provide another way to obtain it. Letting TarCoins buy in-game currency would take that system beyond cosmetics or store items and tie it more closely to a player’s available resources.
That is why the suggestion is drawing concern. PvE does not put players directly against one another, but a paid route to extra in-game funds could still change how progression feels and how much value players place on regular raids. The idea would be especially contentious if a similar exchange ever reached Tarkov’s PvP side, though Buyanov presented the current discussion as a PvE-only concept.
For now, the TarCoin conversion remains a question for the community rather than a confirmed feature. The October update itself is planned to bring Prestige, new PvE rewards, AI PMC changes, and other improvements, but Battlestate Games has not announced that the currency exchange will launch alongside them.
