Escape from Tarkov’s Kord Breach Season Will Add a Jagdkommando Knife
The Microtech Jagdkommando Knife will appear among the rewards in the first season's battle pass when Kord Breach arrives on August 3.
Escape from Tarkov‘s first official season will bring a new battle pass, temporary seasonal characters, and a knife surrounded by one of gaming’s strangest weapon myths. Kord Breach is scheduled to arrive on August 3, 2026.
Battlestate Games studio head Nikita Buyanov teased some of the pass rewards in an image posted on August 1. The reward lineup includes a special dogtag, TarCoins, a trading card, a loot box, and the Microtech Jagdkommando Knife.

Why Players Call It a “War Crime” Weapon
The Jagdkommando is a triple-bladed dagger with a twisted design. It has traditionally been associated with Austria’s special forces, but its appearance has also fueled a long-running claim that the knife is forbidden under international law.
That claim is false. The knife is often said to violate the Geneva Convention because it supposedly causes unnecessary suffering and produces wounds that are difficult to treat. However, its unusual shape does not place it under a special ban. The Jagdkommando is not automatically classified as a war crime simply because it has multiple twisting edges.
In Escape from Tarkov, the knife should still attract plenty of attention, especially from players collecting the Kord Breach pass rewards. The season will also introduce a separate character modified by special modifiers. That character will remain available for the season period before being permanently removed.
Players will be able to progress through the new pass while using that seasonal character. Battlestate Games has not provided a more detailed breakdown of every reward in the teaser image.
