Escape from Tarkov PvE Dogtags May Be Carrying Prestige Badges

A separate PvE task display requires 18 found-in-raid BEAR tags and 18 USEC tags, each marked Prestige I or higher.

Escape from Tarkov‘s PvE loot may be showing a new detail on PMC dogtags: several tags in a player-captured inventory image carry badge-like symbols alongside their levels. The image was shared on August 5, but it does not confirm that the symbols are prestige markers or that the game recently added them.

Several PMC dogtags carry different visual markings. Four of the visible tags carry colored emblems and show levels 37, 3, 50, and 25, while another tag appears plain and shows level 42. The interface at the bottom identifies the capture as PvE and displays build 1.1.0.4.6624.

A separate PvE task display gives the possible prestige system a more concrete in-game context. It shows one objective requiring 18 found-in-raid BEAR PMC dogtags marked Prestige I or higher and another requiring 18 found-in-raid USEC PMC dogtags with the same designation. One view shows 0/18 progress for both objectives, while another shows 2/18 on each line.

The loot image itself has no tooltip or explanation identifying the emblems as prestige levels. The task screen does show Prestige I or higher as a dogtag requirement on the account pictured, but the captures do not establish when it was added, whether it applies to every PvE player, or whether the colored emblems correspond directly to that requirement.

If the icons do mark prestige, they could give dogtags more information than a PMC’s level alone and make prestige-tagged loot relevant to PvE progression. For now, the prestige connection remains an interpretation of the inventory screenshot, even though the task captures show that prestige-labeled dogtags are being used in at least one in-game objective. Until the developer explains the system, the safest reading is that PvE dogtags may have received a visual change that still needs verification.
