Escape From Tarkov “Provocation” Quest Guide
Eliminate 20 targets inside Interchange's ULTRA Mall with an ASh-12, then place three items at locations with separate access requirements.
Provocation combines 20 ULTRA Mall kills with three item-placement objectives on Interchange. The kills must be made with an ASh-12, while the placements require access to Kiba Arms, Saferoom Exfil and a secret container stash.
Requirements and objectives
Provocation unlocks 10 hours after completing Payback. The next quest is Following the Bread Crumbs, with a 10-hour delay.
- Eliminate 20 targets inside the ULTRA Mall using an ASh-12 12.7×55 assault rifle.
- Stash one Salty Dog beef sausage inside Kiba Arms.
- Stash one Bottle of Fierce Hatchling moonshine inside Saferoom Exfil.
- Stash one Toilet paper inside the secret container stash.

The quest lists no Found in Raid requirement for the ASh-12 or the three items you place.
How to complete Provocation
Eliminate 20 targets in ULTRA Mall
Use the ASh-12 to eliminate 20 targets inside the ULTRA Mall on Interchange. The objective specifies the weapon and location, but does not narrow down the type of target.
Place the sausage inside Kiba Arms
With power available and both the Kiba Arms outer door key and inner grate door key, enter the store on the mall’s first floor. Place the Salty Dog beef sausage on the wooden crate in the fenced-off area inside the store.
Place moonshine in Saferoom Exfil
Saferoom Exfil is in the parking garage. Power and an Object #11SR keycard are required. Swipe the card at the urinal in the Burger Spot restaurant to access the area, then place the Bottle of Fierce Hatchling moonshine on the couch inside.
Place Toilet paper in the secret container stash
Go to the container lot in the southwest of the mall. With the power station activated and an Object #21WS keycard, access the red container and place the Toilet paper on the wooden crates inside.
