Epic used Rocket League to kick off Unreal Engine 6, and the first look was all shine
The roughly 35-second teaser ran during the Paris Major and showed Rocket League's familiar arena beats with much higher visual detail.

Epic Games used Rocket League’s Paris Major to show the first public look at Unreal Engine 6, and it did it with a game that has spent its life on Unreal Engine 3.
The teaser landed over Memorial Day weekend during the Rocket League Championship Series event in Paris, with Epic Games and Psyonix leaning on a familiar setup instead of a tech demo. The short in-game clip, which ran for about 35 seconds, kept the usual Rocket League landmarks in view, including the color-coded goal, the green pitch, the arena cage, and the ball that drives the action.
Then came the part that really stood out. The car in the teaser looked far more polished than anything players are used to seeing in Rocket League, with a glossy finish, bright reflections, photorealistic grass under the tires, and a blue rocket trail packed with tiny high-definition particles. The clip also cut to a customization screen with more shiny paint jobs on display.
A post from @cantworkitout captured the crowd reaction to the moment. The teaser did not give a release date for Unreal Engine 6 or say when Rocket League would receive the upgrade, but it did make one thing clear. Epic chose a packed esports stage to show where it wants the next engine to go.
What. A. Moment.

Tim Sweeney has talked before about Unreal Engine 6 being tied to a broader push toward persistent universe tools and more Fortnite-style development features for other games. This first look did not answer every question, but it gave Rocket League fans and engine-watchers plenty to chew on.
