Enlisted Update Lets Machine Guns Fire From the Hip While Moving

The patch also retunes weapons across several classes, improves off-road vehicle guns, and changes rules in Conquest, Assault, and Confrontation.

Enlisted players can fire certain machine guns from the hip while moving in the latest update, though their movement slows to a walk. The patch also revises weapons across several classes and changes rules in Conquest, Assault, and Confrontation.

The new firing option addresses the awkward handling of the Browning .303 (Japan, Battle Pass) and Browning 1919A4 (USA, Research), which players had found difficult to use from a bipod or while prone. Tracers may help players track their shots, but the reduced movement speed keeps the machine guns from becoming a run-and-gun option.

Conquest capture and neutralization times each increase by 5 seconds, while spawn points move closer to objectives on Munda Trail, New Georgia, Tractor Plant, Gavutu, Mountain pass, Rzhev: Left Bank, and Guadalcanal Coast. Assault gets changes to capture times, reinforcement counts, and the extra points awarded for taking sectors. Defenders now lose as soon as they run out of reinforcements. In Confrontation, the countdown pauses rather than resetting when a team is out of points and has a player on the capture point.

Aircraft fuel selection now defaults to 50% and saves between battles. Controller users can adjust fuel with the D-pad, and squad selection returns to LB/RB/L1/R1. The patch also changes vehicle-mounted guns and fixes an issue that could freeze the game after it was minimized with the Steam overlay enabled on Linux or Steam Deck, following earlier Linux and Steam Deck fixes.

  • Fixed a bug on Steam Deck and Linux that could cause the game to freeze after returning from a minimized state while the Steam overlay was enabled.
  • In the mod editor, pressing Shift while trying to move an item no longer creates a clone of it with the same ID.
  • In the mod editor, the drop-down lists of the ADD OBJECT VALUE and ADD ARRAY VALUE no longer appear behind the pop-up window.
  • Mods with outdated navmesh versions no longer cause a crash.

Enlisted

Enlisted is a squad-based first person MMO shooter covering key battles from World War II. The game carefully recreates weapons, military vehicles and the atmosphere of that era, while demonstrating really massive clashes of numerous soldiers, tanks and aircraft with artillery and naval support.

Most of the Enlisted game modes simulate a battle involving several infantry platoons and gives the player control over a squad of soldiers with various roles (i.e. submachine gun soldier, sniper, radio operator, rifleman and others), a whole military vehicle crew or an aircraft pilot. One of the fighters is controlled directly, while others move and shoot independently following the player's general orders. In a situation where all the soldiers in the squad have fallen, a player respawns with the next available squad. This decision makes Enlisted battles look massive and spectacular while keeping the input of each individual player in the overall team victory quite significant.
