Isn’t it delightful when a game you love finds such great success? Well, gather around because Elden Ring has hit a remarkable milestone, with over 28.6 million copies sold! That’s quite the achievement for our favorite FromSoftware title.
Elden Ring Sells Over 28.6 Million Copies
Announced recently by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, this incredible number highlights how much players have embraced the game since its launch in February 2022. Before Elden Ring arrived, the Dark Souls series had only sold about 27 million units combined!
What boosted these numbers was undoubtedly the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC released back in June 2024. Before that exciting expansion dropped, Elden Ring’s sales were already at an impressive 25 million, but they surged by an additional 3.6 million units in just six months following its release.
Hold onto your controllers if you’re wondering what’s next for Elden Ring! The franchise is gearing up to keep those sales rolling into 2025 by announcing a new co-op action-adventure game known as Elden Ring Nightreign. This spin-off will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
Oh! And let’s not forget that a unique network test for Nightreign will take place in February. What a way to get players involved early! Plus, Sony is making waves with their intent to acquire Kadokawa Group, the parent company of FromSoftware, which could signal even more exciting developments in the future.
