Elden Ring has received a minor update with the Nightreign patch, version 1.001.004, now available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players. While this isn’t a massive overhaul, it addresses several gameplay bugs and enhances matchmaking, which should alleviate some of the frustrating multiplayer moments.
One of the neat changes is that Weapon Types will now appear in the Armament information menu. It’s a simple addition but useful for quickly checking what you’re wielding without digging through stats.
Matchmaking issues, specifically a bug where your team would fail to form correctly after two players joined and left simultaneously, have been fixed. This should help when you’re trying to summon allies or get summoned yourself without hiccups.
Here’s the full rundown from the official patch notes:
Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.001.004 Patch Notes
- Weapon Type now displays in each Armament Information menu.
- Fixed an issue where matchmaking would repeatedly fail if two players joined and left your team simultaneously.
- Fixed gesture “It’s Raining!” acquisition via Multiplayer not registering properly. Note: You can obtain the gesture by meeting the conditions even if done before.
- Fixed a bug where characters might revive from near-death during the third-day boss fight after leaving and returning to a session.
- Fixed background music in Recluse Remembrance not playing correctly under certain conditions.
- Fixed an issue where quitting immediately after clearing “Shifting Earth: Crater” prevented “The Crater” achievement from awarding. Note: Clearing conditions grant credit again even if achievement was earned previously.
- Fixed several other miscellaneous bugs.
After installing the patch, players should see the game version displayed on the start screen as App Ver. 1.01.4 and Regulation Ver 1.01.5, confirming the update applied correctly.
