EA Sports Plans to Let FC 27 Settle Before Changing Its Balance
The team says it will wait on ordinary balance issues but act sooner when exploits or serious bugs appear.
EA Sports plans to give FC 27 time to settle before making balance changes, rather than immediately patching every mechanic that players find frustrating. The goal is to let players learn the systems and build their skills around a gameplay foundation that does not change every few weeks.
During a Gamescom interview with PCGamesN, EA Sports representatives Kantcho Doskov and Sam Rivera explained the thinking behind that approach. Rivera said players need time to master the mechanics, adding that the team wants to “let the game breathe” before reacting to balance concerns.
That patience has a limit. EA Sports will still respond quickly if FC 27 develops an exploit or a serious bug that needs immediate attention. Smaller balance problems, however, may have to wait while the team watches how players use the systems in real matches.
FC 27’s defense gets the biggest overhaul
FC 27’s work on attacking and defending mechanics is led by a larger focus on defense. Players will need to take control of defensive situations themselves instead of relying on AI teammates to win the ball for them.
Doskov said the changes required too much work to be handled through a mid-cycle patch. The interception system was rebuilt “from scratch” to make its results more consistent, addressing an area the community had been asking EA Sports to improve.
The result should be a game where defensive skill has a clearer role from the start. If EA Sports follows through on its slower balance plan, players will have more time to understand those changes before the gameplay receives another round of adjustments.
