Drake: Great Villain will join NIKKE’s Special Recruit on September 3

The September update adds the GREAT VILLAIN UNION story event and multiplayer activities, while Drake remains recruitable after the banner ends through Ordinary Recruit and other pools.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE will receive its first September update on September 3. Maintenance is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. UTC+9, and Drake: Great Villain will enter Special Recruit once the update ends. The patch also brings the GREAT VILLAIN UNION story event, new multiplayer activities, and a redesigned resource-download system. The official update notice has the full schedule.

Drake: Great Villain gives the Matis member her second SSR version. She remains with Missilis Industry and the Matis squad, but her combat role changes from Fire Attacker to Wind Defender.

Her new equipment uses Missilis technology to produce stronger electrical discharges and give her more precise control over her abilities. The official recruitment details identify her weapon as the Villain Night Carnival shotgun.

Drake Great Villain banner dates and rates

Special Recruit will begin after maintenance on September 3 and end on September 17 at 4:59:59 a.m. UTC+9. Players can use free or paid Gems and Advanced Recruit Vouchers to pull for her. Ordinary Recruit Vouchers will not work on the banner.

The banner has a four-percent overall SSR rate, with Drake: Great Villain assigned a two-percent individual rate. Each pull also awards Gold Mileage Tickets, and 200 tickets can be exchanged for Drake: Great Villain in the Mileage Shop. Any unused Gold Mileage Tickets will remain available after the banner ends.

Drake: Great Villain will not vanish when Special Recruit closes. The version update that follows will add her to Ordinary Recruit, Social Point Recruit, and Mold items. She will not be added to New Commander Special Recruit or Ordinary Recruit Tutorial, and the Mileage Shop will no longer offer her after the banner period.

Her kit builds attack power around her HP. Activating her Burst Skill raises that attack power again and deals damage to multiple enemies. Shift Up has not published the full skill values or every effect yet, so the finer details of her performance remain unknown.

GREAT VILLAIN UNION gives Drake her story event

The GREAT VILLAIN UNION story event runs from September 3 through September 17. After receiving her upgraded equipment, Drake forms the New Villain Union and tries to build a reputation through small, absurd acts of villainy. The group soon discovers a massive trail outside Reclamation Site 01.

Event stages award currency that can be exchanged for Recruit Vouchers and development materials. A separate Challenge Stage will also open during the event. After maintenance, GREAT VILLAIN UNION will be added to Storyline, while the 2025 ARCANE ARCHIVE event becomes available through Archives in exchange for three Memory Films.

The seven-day DAILY EVIL DEED login event will run alongside the story. Logging in across all seven days provides additional Recruit Vouchers and development materials.

Union Raid and Storm Bringer return

The next Union Raid begins on September 4 at 5 a.m. UTC+9 and ends on September 10 at 4:59:59 a.m. UTC+9. Only Unions at level three or higher can participate. Members will fight bosses to earn Union Chips for rewards, but they will not be able to leave their Union or remove other members while the Raid is active.

Storm Bringer returns as the Coordinated Operation boss from September 11 through September 13. Five Commanders can enter through automatic matchmaking or a premade group, earn Broken Cores, and receive extra rewards based on their ranking.

Champion Arena Beta Season 3B begins on September 10. The update also adds new Profile Decoration objects and titles. Broader Champion Arena changes, including expanded qualification and revised target-priority rules, are planned for when the mode leaves beta later this year.

The update adds Maxwell and changes future downloads

Drake is the third upgraded Matis member after Laplace: Ultimate Hero and Maxwell: Ordinary Mechanic. Maxwell will enter Ordinary Recruit, Social Point Recruit, and Mold items after the update. She will not be added to New Commander Special Recruit, the Ordinary Recruit tutorial, or the Mileage Shop.

The September 3 patch introduces a new resource structure intended to reduce the amount of data required for future updates. Every player will need to redownload the game’s patch data once during the transition. After that, future updates should be smaller and give players more control over which resources remain installed.

Players will be able to remove resources they are not using, including unselected voice-over languages and unused texture or model quality data. The change addresses NIKKE‘s expanding library of music, event scenes, 2D assets, environments, Raptures, and other content.

The new form changes Drake’s battlefield role

The original Drake is a Fire Attacker who has been playable since NIKKE launched. She also uses a shotgun and belongs to Matis, but Great Villain gives her a different element, class, and weapon name while keeping that same squad connection.

Drake has appeared in events including Hightech Toy, A.C.P.U.! FREEZE!, and Perfect Maid. Her Bond episodes center on her attempts to become the Ark’s greatest villain, usually with less success than she would like. July’s PROJECT MATIS brought alternate versions of Laplace and Maxwell into the spotlight, and September now gives Drake her own dedicated story and a second SSR identity.
