Diablo 4’s Annihilus Seal Has Dropped From the Diablo Clone

A reported World Boss Azmodan encounter led to the drop, but the trigger for Uber Diablo's appearance remains unconfirmed.

Annihilus, the coveted Unique Charm from Diablo II, has reportedly dropped in Diablo 4 after a player defeated the Diablo Clone. In Diablo 4, the item is reimagined as a Unique Horadric Seal. Its maximum roll grants +10 to all skills, +20% to all stats, +20% resistance to all elements, and +10% bonus XP.

Reddit user Rhymfaxe reported receiving Annihilus after the Diablo Clone appeared following the defeat of World Boss Azmodan. The encounter was accompanied by the message “Diablo walks the earth.”

Rob2628 has also shared an in-depth video covering the encounter and the seal.

Players can reroll Annihilus at the Cube until they get the stats they want. Reports say the seal becomes account-bound after a reroll, so changing its values may come with a tradeoff.

Annihilus was already a prized endgame find in Diablo II. Even its lowest roll granted +1 to all skills, +10 to all attributes, +10 to all resistances, and +5% bonus XP. As a small charm, it occupied just one inventory space while improving every skill and attribute.

The encounter’s exact trigger remains unknown. One theory points to the Stone of Jordan, one of the legacy items added in Season 15. In Diablo II, players sold Stone of Jordan rings to vendors until a server-wide threshold triggered the Diablo Clone. Diablo 4 does not allow players to sell the ring, but dataminers have found that the game tracks how many times players salvage it.

That salvage counter has prompted speculation that breaking down Stone of Jordan could play a role in summoning the Clone. The counter alone does not confirm a connection, and the trigger has not been established.
