Diablo 4 Update 3.1.2 Cuts Off Two Endless Farming Tricks
The patch also renamed the Mythic crafting recipe, fixed Rogue's Shadow Play Dash bug, and restored the Pit's post-run protection bubble.

Diablo 4 update 3.1.2 went live on July 29, closing two farming exploits that had allowed players to repeatedly collect Superior Lair Keys, gems, and gold. The patch also addressed a Rogue damage bug, renamed a confusing Horadric Cube recipe, and brought back the Pit’s protective bubble.
Two repeatable farms no longer work
Before the update, players found ways to repeatedly farm the Deathtoll Chamber for Superior Lair Keys. Escalation Nightmare Dungeons could also be reset indefinitely when they rolled favorable affixes, creating a steady source of gems or gold.
These changes were not documented in the patch details provided with the update. However, players on Reddit reported that both methods stopped working after patch 3.1.2 went live.

The Mythic recipe has a clearer name
The Horadric Cube recipe previously called Upgrade to Mythic is now named Craft Mythic. The old name suggested that the recipe would improve the item placed into the Cube, but that was not how the system worked.
Instead, the recipe turns an item into a random Mythic item from the same equipment type. The new name gives a more accurate description of the result and should reduce the chance of players misreading the recipe before confirming the craft.
Rogue Dash bug fixed
Patch 3.1.2 also fixed an issue involving the Rogue’s Dash ability and its Shadow Play upgrade. The bug allowed the skill to deal far more damage than intended, helping Rogues dominate this season’s leaderboards.
With that interaction corrected, high-level Pit and Tower rankings should have a more even distribution between classes. Rogues had been particularly dominant throughout the season because of the bugged ability.
The Pit’s protection bubble is back
Blizzard also restored the invulnerability bubble that appears after players finish a Pit run. The protection had been removed, leaving players vulnerable to lingering ground effects even after defeating the boss and completing the activity.
That created especially harsh consequences for Hardcore characters, since a death after a completed run could erase the character entirely. The bubble once again protects players at the end of the Pit, giving them a safer window to collect rewards and leave the activity.
Update 3.1.2 changes
Patch 3.1.2 addressed several problems that had affected Diablo 4’s current season. The main changes covered crafting clarity, class balance, endgame farming, and post-run safety.
- The Horadric Cube recipe Upgrade to Mythic was renamed Craft Mythic.
- The Rogue Dash and Shadow Play damage issue was fixed.
- Repeatable Deathtoll Chamber farming for Superior Lair Keys no longer works.
- Infinite resets for Escalation Nightmare Dungeons with favorable affixes no longer work.
- The Pit’s invulnerability bubble was restored.
