Deadlock’s Solomon Is Now Playable With a Chess-Themed Kit
His four abilities position allied attackers, protect teammates, stop enemies, and lock down opponents.

Solomon is now playable in Deadlock, bringing a chess-themed kit built around positioning allied attackers, protecting teammates, and holding enemies in place. Valve's six-hero rollout began with Baba's Oct. 6 debut, and players can now vote on who joins next Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. PDT.
Setup Bishop places damage dealers ahead of Solomon and lets him reposition them across the streets. Kingside Knight shields allies and supports a tactical retreat, while Rook Battery charges forward to halt opponents. His ultimate, Develop Queen, locks down enemies. Valve’s Steam announcement also gives Solomon the line, “There’s a lot you can learn from losing to a master.”
Solomon’s debut puts Valve halfway through its latest hero set and arrives just ahead of National Chess Day. He follows Baba, who became available on Oct. 6, and fills the Oct. 9 next-hero slot Valve had previously announced. Votes will help determine which hero joins Deadlock next Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. PDT. Baba’s arrival and the previously announced Oct. 9 timing set up the latest step in the rollout.
Which of Solomon’s four abilities seems most useful for setting up a fight? Follow the remaining hero reveals and vote-driven picks on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
