Deadlock’s newest patch gives Urn Runner and Unstable Rift a tune-up

The July 9 Steam post also adjusted a long list of heroes, from Doorman and Drifter to Shiv and Yamato.

Valve posted a new Deadlock minor update on July 9, 2026, and this pass leaned hard into balance work instead of flashy systems changes.

It follows the July 1 Shiv-focused tune-up, but this time the spotlight spread across the map. Urn Runner, Unstable Rift, and a long list of heroes all picked up adjustments, with several of the biggest numbers landing on movement, timing, and cooldowns.

The most immediate changes hit Urn Runner and Unstable Rift. Valve trimmed Urn Runner’s speed bonuses, raised its stamina recovery, and made it easier to hear nearby. Unstable Rift now gives less warning before it appears, while Rift Troopers spawn a little more staggered and come with added resistance.

Hero tuning fills out the rest of the patch. Doorman, Drifter, Graves, Haze, Mirage, Pocket, Shiv, Silver, Victor, Viscous, and Yamato all saw targeted changes, and Shiv in particular took multiple hits to scaling, cooldowns, and health threshold numbers.
