Dark and Darker Hotfix #128 Fixes Broken Escapes and Adds a Tavern Countdown

Dark and Darker Early Access Hotfix #128 fixes several escape and dungeon problems, including a missing portal near the final circle in Solo and Duo Expedition Mode. It also addresses client and server crashes, while adding a timed departure countdown for players leaving the Tavern. IRONMACE’s Steam notes for Hotfix #128 detail the changes.

Some of the fixes address failures that could cut a run short or leave players stuck. In Firedeep, the boss room could become disconnected from its entrance, leaving the Magma Wyvern absent and players falling into empty space. Rope escapes in Ice Abyss Staircase Hill and Deep Flow also failed to extract players who reached the top.

The hotfix addresses several stability problems, including crashes during the dungeon results transition, while spectating in the death cam, and when switching between primary and special attacks. It also fixes a server crash linked to light sources running out of fuel. Other corrections cover a patch download failure, inconsistent Training reward token tooltips, and players being sent to character select after returning to the lobby from the death cam.

Leaving the Tavern now starts a one-minute countdown after departure is confirmed. The remaining time appears in seconds on the top banner, and IRONMACE notes that the countdown duration may change.

Bugfixes

Fixed an issue in Expedition Mode where no Escape Portal appeared just before the final circle in Solo and Duo.
Fixed an issue in Firedeep where the boss room could be disconnected from its entrance, leaving the Magma Wyvern missing and players falling into empty space.
Fixed an issue where climbing to the top of the rope escape in Ice Abyss Staircase Hill and Deep Flow did not escape the player.
Fixed an issue where Training reward token candidate tooltips showed different stats each time they were opened.
Fixed an issue where returning to the lobby from the death cam could send players to the character select screen.
Fixed an issue where some players failed to download the patch due to a large file.
Fixed several client crashes, including crashes when moving to the dungeon result screen, while spectating in the death cam, and when alternating between primary and special attacks.
Fixed a server crash that could occur when a light source such as a torch ran out of fuel.

When departure from the Tavern is confirmed, a 1-minute countdown now begins. The remaining time is shown in seconds on the top banner. This duration may be adjusted.
