Cyclops will join Marvel Rivals on Friday, June 12, when Season 8.5 goes live, and he will do it as a Duelist instead of a Vanguard.
The X-Men leader was already teased for Season 8, and the broader setup around Season 8’s Cyclops tease pointed toward a midseason arrival after Devil Dinosaur opened the season. Miller Ross shared a closer look at Cyclops on X, and the post said the character will arrive with Season 8.5 on Friday, June 12, in a June 9 post.

Marvel Rivals’ latest Dev Vision also laid out his kit. Cyclops can fire optic blasts directly at enemies or ricochet them off the environment and other foes, and that same force also helps him move across the battlefield. His ultimate unleashes a massive optic blast that clears a path in front of him, while Wolverine’s new team-up, Blast Slash, gives Logan supercharged claws.
Season 8.5 is not stopping at one hero. Bounty Annihilation will arrive as an 18v18 mode with a new map, summer Swimsuit Special costumes are on the way, and Hellfire Bay Beach will act as the new social hub.
Path to Doomsday is also being pushed back. Phase two moves to late July, while phase three is delayed until mid-October as the team works to improve the overall experience after what it called a rough first outing with the Avengers.
