Cyberpunk 2’s Quest Team Is About Half Former Modders, Sasko Says
Sasko estimates that about half of Cyberpunk 2's quest team previously modded The Witcher 2 or The Witcher 3, and says modding can offer a path into game development.

Paweł Sasko, associate game director on Cyberpunk 2, estimates that about half of the sequel’s quest team are former modders. He said some had made mods for The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 before CD Projekt Red hired them.
Sasko made the estimate during a REDstreams presentation about Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 and its cross-platform mod menu. The menu lets players browse and install a selection of user-created mods. He described modding as a possible route into game development: players can learn how games are built by customizing them, then use their mods as work samples when applying for jobs.
