Crazy Taxi: World Tour will hold a closed beta on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC from September 11 through September 13, 2026. Players who want an early look at SEGA’s arcade racing reboot can register through August 31 on the official Crazy Taxi: World Tour website. Only a small number of players will receive invitations, with SEGA using the test to check the stability of the game’s online multiplayer.
The test will focus on online multiplayer and will include two modes. Pickup Race puts up to six players in a race to deliver passengers before time runs out, with fares adding to each driver’s earnings. Cops ‘N’ Cabbies divides players into two teams for a competitive chase across the city.
Both modes will support Ranked Matches and Custom Matches. Ranked play will use matchmaking, while Custom Matches will let players create their own lobbies and adjust the rules.
The beta will feature four drivers, six cars, and two maps, along with several car tune-up options. San Francisco’s West Coast area, which was previously shown for the game, will be part of the test. The single-player story planned for the full game will not be playable during this session, and progress made during the test will not transfer to the final release.
SEGA has also confirmed that the final release is planned for 2027. Earlier discussion around the game centered on generative AI being used for reference during some art development. The company said those assets would be replaced before launch.
