Core Keeper’s July Community Update Spotlights Player Creations and Map Tools

The roundup features a fan-made summoner build, three hydra bosses, enemy concept art, and several community-made tools and mods.

Core Keeper used its July 2026 community update to celebrate player-made creations, helpful tools, fan builds, and some of the game’s more dangerous bosses. The team also explained that Pugstorm staff had spent part of the summer away from their desks in Sweden, while still finding time for a community roundup in its official Steam update.

Favorite Scenes and a Handy Map Tool

Scenes are distinct areas that appear throughout the world, such as the broken bridge in Azeos’ Wilderness. The update also highlighted scenes made by players during the earlier “Scene Makers” challenge.

The developers also pointed players toward the Core Keeper map tool. Co-created by Pugstorm’s Ceddini and Soul Wade alongside community members ZeroGravitas, Caigins, and Mz, with nineforty receiving an honorable mention, the tool lets players upload map files and filter them to locate unexplored areas, bosses, and other points of interest.

Enemy Concept Art and Mob Farming

The roundup revisited the concept art behind the Bubble Crab and Tentacle enemies from the Sunken Sea. The developers presented the creatures with a playful nod to the strong reactions they have received from the community.

Hydras and a Summoner Build

Core Keeper’s three hydra bosses, Druidra, Crydra, and Pyrdra, also received a mention. Players can challenge these elemental enemies only after powering up The Core.

The community spotlight then turned to SakuraTsubasa’s “Monarch of the Eighth Legion” build for Summoners. The setup uses the Warlock background, Tome of Sprouts, Grim Hood, Grim Breastplate, Grim Legwear, Soul Medallion, Hourglass Ring, Vicious Ring, Scholar Backpack, Soul Lantern, and an Earie pet. Its food choice is the Rare Abyssal Moon Sandwich, while the listed skills focus on Summoning and Magic.

Suggestions and the More Map Reveal Mod

Pugstorm pointed players toward its User Suggestions Board for feature requests. The team said community ideas have already helped bring additions such as the bucket and new backgrounds to the game, and that the board is the most direct way to submit feedback.

The month’s mod spotlight went to Ninakoru’s More Map Reveal mod. It expands the area uncovered as players move through the world, helping reveal hidden treasures, points of interest, and new biomes with a small but useful change to map discovery.
