Borderlands 4’s August 13 Rotation Is Live With Core Observer and a New Legendary
The server-side rotation runs from August 13 through August 20 and pairs Core Observer with One Slimy Issue and the Whiskey Foxtrot Vladof Assault Rifle.

Borderlands 4 has a new Weekly Activities lineup available from August 13 through August 20. The server-side refresh adds a new Weekly Big Encore Boss, a Wildcard Mission with three modifiers, and a relocated Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine. The latest Steam announcement confirms that players need an internet connection to see the current activities.
The new cycle follows the August 6-13 rotation, which introduced server-side weekly refreshes instead of delivering the activities through weekly game updates. Players can also check the schedule outside the game through the official website and Steam news hub.
Borderlands 4’s August 13-20 Weekly Activities
- Weekly Big Encore Boss: Core Observer
- Weekly Wildcard Mission: One Slimy Issue
- Mission Modifiers: Healthy, Regenerative, and Deflector
- Legendary Gear Reward: Whiskey Foxtrot Vladof Assault Rifle

Core Observer is the main target for this week’s boss activity. The Wildcard Mission offers a different kind of challenge, with Healthy, Regenerative, and Deflector changing how players approach the encounter.

Completing One Slimy Issue awards the Whiskey Foxtrot Vladof Assault Rifle, giving Vault Hunters a specific Legendary weapon to chase before the weekly lineup changes.
Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine Has Moved
Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine is in a new location for the August 13-20 rotation. Its position is the same for every player, but the items inside can vary between players, so comparing inventories with friends may help anyone hunting for a particular piece of gear.
After the main campaign is complete, the Weekly Big Encore Boss and Weekly Wildcard Mission can be found in the Map tab of the ECHO menu. Which activity are you taking on first? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, Telegram.
