Treyarch published the full Season 1 patch notes for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 ahead of the new season, outlining new Multiplayer playlists, fresh Zombies content, weapon adjustments, anti-cheat changes and a long list of bug fixes and stability updates.
The update introduces new Multiplayer maps, Utopia, Fate and Standoff for 6v6, plus Odysseus for Face Off, and a new round-based Zombies map called Astra Malorum, along with the Survival map Exit 115. On the security front Treyarch tightened Ricochet Anti-Cheat requirements: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are now required to play Warzone starting in Season 01, and the notes say boosting detection has been improved to reduce unfair progression. The patch also adds email verification rewards for players who verify their accounts when the season goes live.
Weapon changes include a notable overhaul to bullet penetration: penetration distances were slightly increased for many surfaces, penetration now applies a flat damage falloff after passing through cover, and FMJ now properly increases penetration distance and reduces damage falloff. The notes also call out adjustments to specific weapons and new challenges that let players unlock items such as the NX Ravager and Ballistic Knife.
Multiplayer sees new playlists and party-focused modes: a Season 01 Moshpit and Hardcore Moshpit, Prop Hunt, and a Party Games rotation that adds Sharpshooter and One in the Chamber. Mode tweaks include an Overload overtime rule, forcing EMP carriers to equip pistols while holding the device, and a series of fixes for respawn, score feed, and Skirmish objective behavior.
Zombies received a broad set of fixes and improvements. Pack-a-Punch changes (AAROW 109 now fires grenade projectiles), Mystery Box items now drop to the ground when melee’d so anyone can pick them up, and multiple collision and exploit patches across maps like Vandorn Farm and Blackwater Lake. The patch also reverts the Ashes of the Damned boss fight in Cursed Mode to its original, harder difficulty.
Endgame and Co-op players get new World Events and Exotic weapons: two World Events – Colossus of Avalon and Toxic Tyrant – plus Exotic Skills and two Exotic weapons named Killswitch and Swarmforge. The update also fixes a variety of Create a Class, attachment and loadout bugs that previously caused items not to appear in-game. There are numerous UI and platform-specific fixes, including corrections to Winner’s Circle emote inputs, medals appearing in the Medal Collection, and a PC fix for clan tags resetting between sessions.
