Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.2.5 Will Fix Water Combat and Custom Lobby Issues on September 1
The small patch will also address black screens after matches, Wake Island AI behavior, and an Xbox Series S stability problem.

Battlefield 6 Game Update 1.4.2.5 is scheduled to arrive on September 1, bringing a compact set of quality-of-life and reliability fixes to Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. The official Steam update notice says the patch follows Update 1.4.2.0 with changes aimed at match flow, gameplay consistency, Custom Lobbies, UI behavior, and stability.
Water combat is one of the clearest targets. Once the update arrives, helicopter miniguns will be able to damage enemy soldiers in the water again, while laser designation will work correctly against the F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat during Carrier Strike.
Portal Custom Lobbies are also getting another reliability pass. The “Start” tile will remain responsive if players open Lobby Settings or the Pause menu while the lobby countdown is active. Other gameplay fixes cover Support pings, Battle Royale Quads, Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, the Match Trigger attachment, AI behavior, and general presentation.
The update will also reduce black screens that can occur after finishing a match and moving from the Event tab to the lobby. On Xbox Series S, the game should no longer become unresponsive after players return from active Multiplayer gameplay, while server performance around water will improve through reduced water-related processing.
